For some time now the sails have been set for a
journey to a world of calm and relaxation. The
famous architect Mario Botta created a wellbeing
oasis over 5,000 square metres at a height of
1,800 metres. After three years of construction,
it is now revealing its distinctive face in the
mountainous area of Arosa in the Swiss Canton of
Graubünden. The roof structure, consisting of
opulent, yet filigree sails of glass and steel,
nestles harmoniously in its surroundings. By day
the sails create a space suffused with light. By
night they cast a warm light over the idyllic
mountain village of Arosa.
The principle of the designer Philippe Starck
fits perfectly with the concept of a mountain
oasis: a return to basics, to the archetype of
water usage. For this Axor Manufaktur created a
custom-made Axor Starck showering column for the
Tschuggen mountain oasis. The experts installed
the slim showering pole in the floor with a
special anchorage for the free-standing glass
cabins. The bathrooms are created in a mix of
styles with granite from Graubünden and are
perfectly complemented by the fittings from the
Axor Starck Classic range. Here too the Tschuggen
Grand Hotel offers their guests a sense of
wellbeing down to the last detail.
