AXOR Massaud. Minimalism in harmony with nature. Eliminating all traces of traditional bathroom design, this avant-garde collection sets the stage for a holistic experience. The mixer, sensuously organic, resembles a blade of grass. The spout, exquisitely thin, becomes an elegant shelf. The spray, perfectly shaped, takes the form of a silky natural waterfall. The bathroom itself is transformed into a space of well-being, a spa-like retreat for mind and body.

“I had this intuition of a bathroom where the functional elements disappear to create the right landscape for a more holistic kind of experience. The mixer had to disappear. It becomes a shelf – a place to put your ring, your champagne, perhaps a macaron. As water leaves the mixer, it becomes a waterfall, the bathtub a lake. It’s magic. It looks so simple and effortless, and that’s the supreme elegance.”

A WATERFALL AT THE WASH BASIN.
Ideally suited to modern minimalist interiors, AXOR Massaud merges organic and geometric forms into a new and reduced design language for the bathroom. The traditional mixer spout is transformed into a slim, broad shelf concealing state-of-the-art flood-jet technology that shapes the water’s trajectory as it flows splashlessly into the wash basin at an energy-conscious rate of just four liters per minute.
Wide curvaceous wash basins and bathtubs
A HARMONY OF NATURAL RATIOS.
At the wash basin, AXOR Massaud includes single-lever mixers in two heights as well as three-hole and wall-mounted mixers. At the tub, a range of mixers for bathtub rim and tile edge are available, along with the iconic floorstanding single-lever mixer seen here, a perfect companion-piece to the lake-like freestanding tub with scratch-resistant gel coat finish.

Soft curves, seamless geometric transitions and sumptuous natural ratios underlie AXOR Massaud’s nature-inspired aesthetic, extending to the whole bathroom a harmonious, zen-like coherence conducive to mental calm as well as physical well-being. Pleasing the eye and soothing the mind, AXOR Massaud comprises more than 330 individual design-objects, including a wide selection of diverter valves and thermostatic mixers for concealed installation in the shower.

Since graduating from Paris’ ENSCI-Les Ateliers in 1990, Jean-Marie Massaud has worked on projects in a vast range of scales and contexts. From a volcano-inspired football stadium in Mexico to a ‘Manned Cloud’ airship concept for ONERA to award-winning objects for everyday use, his work seeks to renew its subject through a thoughtful reconsideration of the stakes involved and an instinctive quest for elegance and lightness. In addition to AXOR Massaud, Jean-Marie Massaud has designed the AXOR Edge collection and developed an innovative addition to AXOR’s Waterdream concept.
